
Take a bow, construction team. When it was completed this was a stage worthy of the world’s biggest ever rock festival.
The floor was flat and solid, clad in thick plywood, covered in coir matting for grip. There was theatrical lighting above, and separate areas either side of the stage for the main banks of speakers. There was a staircase entrance for artists that came up through a hole in the middle back of the stage, and there was that massive ramp out the back.
And the team found time to add a big sign and a coat or two of coloured paint, so it looked pretty good from out front, too.
